Antwerp-based Meltheads is no longer a stranger to the Belgian music landscape. The band became a finalist of De Nieuwe Lichting 2022, won the silver medal at Humo's Rock Rally 2022 and also crowned themselves Sound Track laureates in the same year. Their hit single 'Naïef' is a modern belpop classic with more than 600,000 streams on Spotify by now.
Earlier this year, with 'Decent Sex', Meltheads delivered a headbang of a debut, full of high-intensity rock and punk bangers that call for churning moshpits. A "bawdy and addictive top debut" according to De Morgen, which has also been picked up internationally. For instance, Clash Magazine describes their sound as "An explosion in a barbed wire factory" and DIY Magazin says "Conjures mosh pits with its brash ferocity". Then again, Meltheads' passage at the showcase festival Eurosonic put Dutch 3voor12 in their top 10.
You hear it, Meltheads comes highly recommended! As a bouncer, here's another quote from Humo after their passage at Rock Herk: "In the Club, we were presented with an insane set that was unblushingly reminiscent of up-and-coming rock bands in the 90s. You saw Nirvana at the Vooruit? Well, I saw Meltheads at Rock Herk. Can anyone predict where the top is?"
We are already ready for a night of rolling over each other at Cactus Club!
